In 2012, seven growth friends (ages spanning the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s) agreed to come together and share experiences, observations, insights, "aha" moments & playful thoughts every week. Throughout 2012 they published these in a blog. They also created a Facebook Page to rally some readers and fans. The criteria: submit only original work - one liners, poems, stories, etc., no slipping in quotes from others - nope, nadda.
Each week they submitted two or three submissions on an assigned topic (to kick start their creative juices) or ones of their choice that ranged from happiness to fear to aging to failure to fun, etc. They submitted hundreds of what they call "wisdom nuggets." Midyear, they met over a yummy meal, had a great time getting acquainted, exchanged gifts and just had fun. To wrap up the project, they participated in a photo shoot where lots of great shots were taken and they enjoyed another yummy meal to acknowledge and celebrate their contributions. With hundreds of these wisdom nuggets, Robin thought, hmmm, what next? There has to be a way to share these in a creative way, something other than just another book of quotes. After some brainstorming, she came up with the idea of an introspection journal.
Obviously, there is no way to include all of the wisdom nuggets these amazing and talented ladies shared in one compilation, so she considers this her gateway project to creating more fun tools in the Wisdom of Friends series. She also has other series percolating that she's really excited about creating and publishing. Robin considers this her push-me-through-the-obstacles-of-going-for-what-I-really-want project!
